Project Overview

 The young people visiting the Malmi Youth Centre in Helsinki wanted to have their visiblepresence in a mural designed for the main room. They also wanted the name of the region "Malmi" written on the wall.

In Autumn 2010 the mural making process started inviting many painters participating in the realization of the project. Young people worked together with designers Aki Kotkas and Niina Aalto.

<p>&nbsp;The group prepared a graphic image of the Youth House using Google Street view and with the aid of image processing and vectoring. The finished image was projected on the wall and helped the painters.</p>
<p>&nbsp;The painting of the mural started at the Malmi Youth Centre. The theme for the mural was made in workshops held before the painting period.</p>
