The Making of Fantasy Design is the project that tells about the making of Fantasy Design! Within this project we bring together all the projects in this website and tell about what is happening behind the curtains.

The Making of Fantasy Design is the project for all users = participants in the project Fantasy Design in Community 2009-2011. This is the place to find out general information about this European design education project: about the schedule and important events for us all. It is also the place for the project managers to upload important material and ask and get instructions for working.

<p>Opening of the Fantasy Design exhibition in Design museum Gent, Belgium.</p>

<p>The training event for Fantasy Design partners from four countries took place in the wonderful City of Gent. Our host was the cultured city and the famous Design Museum Gent.&nbsp;The Mayor of the City of Gent Daniel Termont gave us a welcoming speech that illuminated the awsome cultural heritage and also the prospects of the City. The lecture of urban designer Dr.&nbsp;Angela Uttke of Germany about participatory design projects of JAS - Jugand Architektur Stadt of Germany was very inspiring and gave concrete examples of what it is to design and execute new spaces for young people in the city. On the second day Elias Tertsunen of Gripstudios Interactive trained us about the website that will be the central working tool for the international project. It was pretty exciting.</p>
<p>Bart talked about materials and their re-use and let us test on an exciting white stuff!</p>
<p>At a local community center we met Hans Weyers and social workers of Bloemekensvijk. They had redesigned the premises with local people in collaboration with Bernadette and the Design Museum.</p>
<p>In Angela's workshop we tested the World Caf&eacute; method of group work and process-centered design, redesigning for example the patio and stairs of Design museum Gent.</p>
<p>To start the training event Bernadette asked us all to select an object that she had brought with her and then tell about ourselves through a story that includes that special object or thing. Henrik told about his passionate background in drama,&nbsp; Jaana about her swimming lessons amidst all kinds of work and people working as regional artist and Bernadette herself about her beloved coffee cup.</p>
